Our Little Kindy / Junior Kindy program offers positive experiences through lots of child-centered hands on learning. Children of this age are starting to seek out and accept new challenges, make new discoveries and celebrate their own efforts and achievements and those of others. Our educators ensure that all children experience pride in their attempts and achievements. They challenge and support children to engage in and persevere at tasks and play.
The children are becoming aware that the feelings and wishes of others may be different than their own and therefore start to develop the capacity for empathy. The development of social and emotional skills is of primary importance during these years. Children show an increasing capacity to understand, self-regulate and manage their emotions in ways that reflect the feelings and needs of others. They will have opportunities to learn about relating to other people and their peers.
Our educators will talk with children about their emotions and responses to events with a view to supporting their understanding of emotional regulation and self-control.
Understanding feelings and needs, knowing how to communicate those needs to others, and having the skills to solve problems are characteristics and skills that Butterfly Childcare values and believes leads to a healthy personality. Play, respect, trust, and responsibility all cover the importance of the child.
In the Little Kindy program we also work along side the family to ensure that your child’s toileting needs are met.
